  • Goldsmiths is a world-renowned university that has a reputation for rigorous and innovative academic work; creativity has long been our hallmark. Academic excellence and imaginative course content combine to make a place where creative minds can thrive.

    About the Department

The Careers Service, part of Student and Academic Services, works in collaboration with students and colleagues across Goldsmiths to support and deliver across the institution. Through the effective delivery of a range of frontline services, it is critical to supporting the Employability of students before, during and after their time at Goldsmiths. As such, we are a key contributor to the overall strategy and key metrics of the institution including the Graduate Outcomes metrics, Teaching Excellence Framework and the Access and Participation Plan.

    About the Role

The Student Ambassador Co-ordinator is based within the Careers Service and makes a key contribution to our work in supporting student employability by managing and overseeing the smooth operation and expansion of our successful Student Ambassador programme. The post holder will work in partnership across the University to plan and oversee the recruitment, training and management of new and returning ambassadors, ensuring that the scheme effectively targets students from under-represented groups. You will liaise with staff across Goldsmiths to promote the scheme, source varied work opportunities and match Student Ambassadors with these.

    About the Candidate

The successful applicant will ideally hold a degree and have extensive relevant recent experience. A background in recruitment, Human Resources or Careers and Employability in HE or other educational settings would be advantageous. Excellent management, communication, relationship building, organisational and administration skills are all essential, as is the ability to work independently and to multi-task.

This permanent post operates on a full-time basis, within the hours of Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Occasional evening / weekend working may be required, although this would be minimal and time off in lieu would be applied.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the Belinda Heys [email protected]

Please note that you are welcome to submit a CV or additional documents but you must complete all sections of the application form, including the essential and desirable criteria. Failure to complete these sections is very likely to result in your application being disregarded.

    Benefits

We have generous benefits – an agile working environment, 28 days' annual leave plus 6 paid closure days (4 at Christmas and 2 at Easter) plus all Bank Holidays, great transport links, a defined benefit pension scheme, support for professional development, and a broad range of wellbeing initiatives such as staff choir, running club, and creative writing classes.

We are committed to equality. All applications will be judged solely on merit, however, we particularly welcome applications from groups currently under-represented in the workforce, for example black and minority ethnic groups and those with disabilities.
