  • Kingston University is seeking a Strategic Planning Partner, to fulfil a new, critical supporting, advising and coordinating function for strategic planning across all of the University's business units.

Reporting to the Interim Pro VC for Strategy, the role is key to realising the ambitions set out in Kingston's Town House Strategy and will ensure that the University's agreed strategic aims are embedded into local plans, and that successful outcomes are achieved.

The role holder will work alongside a fellow Strategic Planning Partner, liaising closely with expert analysts in the Planning and Performance department, and with the business partners from other professional services departments, such as HR, Finance and Estates. They will be a lynchpin in the annual planning process and will support ongoing strategic conversations across all faculties and directorates, becoming an embedded partner for all senior faculty and directorate leaders.

    The Person

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a confident and credible influencer at leadership level, adept at analysing position, performance, opportunities and risks, and able to effectively broker decisions. As such you will have deep understanding of sector developments and data sets. You will be a team player, able to draw upon the capabilities and resources of experts in other departments such as Planning and Performance, to inform your advice to senior faculty and directorate leaders.

You must have considerable experience at a senior level in one or more faculty or professional service roles, proven ability to work effectively in different types of teams, a solid foundation of advanced qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, understanding of the measures used in UK higher education as well as sector regulatory and governance obligations.

    Directorate/Function

The role sits in the University's new directorate of Strategy Performance and Communication which comprises the departments of Planning and Performance; Brand, Communications and Public Affairs; and a new Strategic Portfolio Office. The Strategic Planning Partners will play an important role in shaping the new directorate and bringing teams together to achieve the University's strategic objectives.
