The Department of Physics, Cavendish Laboratory, is looking for two Stores/Yard Assistants to join a small team, responsible for the smooth running of the Stores.
Based on the West Cambridge site, The Cavendish is anticipated to move to its new home, the Ray Dolby Centre, in 2025, which will mark the start of a new era for physics at Cambridge. The new state of the art facility is being purpose built for our world leading research programmes.
Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Stores person looking for a new role, where there is a focus on excellence and customer service?
The Stores/Yard Assistant will play a key role in the move, the main duties of this role will include but not be limited to:
-customer/counter service -receiving goods-in and maintaining stock levels -academic/student liaison -maintenance of the inventory system -assisting with stock takes -assisting with unloading of deliveries and upkeep of delivery yard at the Ray Dolby Centre when we relocate in 2025.
The successful candidate will have excellent working knowledge of a busy Stores including stock management and goods-in, is well organised and enjoys interacting with a wide range of people.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
