An opportunity has arisen for a Stores Assistant within the Centre for Blended Realities on the Entrepreneurial Futures (SPF) project, reporting to the Immersive Technical Specialist. The primary purpose of the role is to provide support to delivery team and clients who are using the Immersive Facility and more widely, they will support the safe and appropriate storage of technical equipment, maintain the facility ensuring it is kept tidy and equipment is ready for use.
You will be required to provide demonstrations to clients and research staff and assist the team with project delivery. Professionalism is key to the role and adaptability due to the range of clients and technologies. Opportunities and support will be provided to learn more about the technologies offered.
Health & Safety is a key focus and as such you will be required to adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times. Also, when appropriate, the role holder may be required to advise and guide all users of our service to ensure their compliance in relation to these policies.
You will be required to work collaboratively with other members of the stores team; a flexible approach is a must as you may be required to cover work colleagues during busy periods or absences. On occasion, this may mean working additional or varied working hours.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK by investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
About YouThe successful candidate will have experience of working within a technical environment and possess a flair for data management and equipment maintenance. Attention to detail is crucial in this role, to ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standard, and that all processes and procedures are adhered to. Customer focused, you will possess excellent communication skills, key to this role is the ability to engage with users of the facility and IT literacy.
