Sports Delivery Manager

£34,980 rising annually to £38,205 Full Time, Permanent - Professional Ser

The aim of Brookes Sport is to create an environment where teams and individuals are supported to succeed. With 35+ Brookes Sport sports clubs, we support in excess of 2,000 students to compete and represent in sport for the university, supported by 30+ sports coaches. This brand new role will lead this core area of delivery for the department as we embrace an institutional strategy for sport and active wellbeing aligned to The 2035 Strategy for the University.

We are looking for a Sports Delivery Manager to support the delivery of the University's Strategy for Sport, specifically the successful delivery of the student-sport-focused sphere, through the strategic and sustainable management of the student-sport programme, with the aim of providing the best possible student sporting experience. The role will also develop and deliver a sector leading programme of coach education and development.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the higher education sporting environment, including the BUCS structure, and an understanding of the key elements of coaching behaviour and the process of making coaching decisions. You will have experience of staff recruitment and management, developing and providing training to both volunteers and specialist deliverers, and successfully managing budgets to create sustainable delivery.

We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job, but we realise the 'perfect candidate' doesn't exist. So, if you are excited about this role, go ahead and apply. You could be exactly what we need.

This post is a full-time, permanent contract. If you have any queries please contact Marcus O'Dowda-Boswell, Head of Sports Development [email protected]. Only applications received before 12:00 on Friday 14 June 2024 will be considered. Interviews will take place on Tuesday 25 June 2024.

Please note: the successful applicant will need to be subject to a background disclosure check (DBS) before any appointment can be confirmed.
