The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (F.S.P.) CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research center of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.
CNIC is searching to hire a Specialist Technician with experience in animal models of cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disease, to join the Cardiovascular Risk Factors & Brain Health Research Program, coordinated by Dra. MA Moro. Candidates with previous solvent experience in research laboratories will be valued.
The contract is part of the grant CEX2020-001041-S funded by MCIN/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 in the Centros de Excelencia «Severo Ochoa» y Unidades de Excelencia «María de Maeztu» call.
Functions:
Technical support in the research tasks related to the scientific lines and objectives of the program that will involve, among other tasks, knowledge in behavioural and neurological tests in animal models.

The RESOLUTION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF STATE FOR PUBLIC FUNCTION APPROVING THE COMMON ACTION CRITERIA FOR THE RECRUITMENT PROCESSES IN THE STATE PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES of April 11, 2022, set forth in point 6.1 that “Unless a specific regulation establishes a merit-bases recruitment system (concurso), the competition (concurso-oposición) must be the recruitment system”
In CNIC, the specific regulations approved by the Foundation's board of trustees establish a merit-base recruitment system (concurso) including a personal interview.
At least the 3 candidates with the highest score, as long as they reach the minimum of 65 points as a sum of criteria (C1‐C4) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1-C5) is higher than 80 points.

Scoring criteria:
C1 - Experience in colony management and genotyping, experimentation with animal models (especially mice models) (the experience will be valued as a whole based on the time/specialty) - 20%
C2 - Research experience in behavioural testing in animal models (the experience will be valued as a whole based on time/specialty) - 20%
C3 - Experience in mouse microsurgery and animal care and well-being (the experience will be valued as a whole based on time/specialty) - 20%
C4 - Experience in the use of laboratory databases for animal management (the experience will be valued as a whole based on time/specialty - 20%
C5 - Interview - 20%
