Space Supervisor

Job description

Leeds Beckett University is seeking an organised, proactive and customer-focused Space Supervisor to join our Estates and Facilities team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing and improving the University’s physical estate. You will support the Space Manager in the effective planning, monitoring and management of space, furniture, signage and associated records across the University.

You will lead and coordinate office moves, migrations and space-related projects, working closely with colleagues, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal disruption.

As Space Supervisor, you will also project manage space-related works from inception to completion, including space planning, furniture, signage, minor refurbishment and associated operational activities. The role will involve managing the procurement, maintenance and lifecycle of furniture assets; acting as contract lead for furniture, signage and migration-related suppliers; and monitoring performance, quality, compliance and value for money.

You will coordinate University signage projects, organise room utilisation and space surveys, analyse findings and provide recommendations to inform operational and strategic planning. You will also maintain accurate records relating to space, furniture, signage and associated assets, produce reliable space management data and reports, and provide professional advice on space management, utilisation, furniture standards, signage, procedures and health and safety requirements. In addition, you will supervise and coordinate the work of the Space Coordinator, supporting the effective delivery of day-to-day operational activities while promoting high standards of customer service, sustainability, compliance and continuous improvement.

We are seeking someone with a degree in a related area or equivalent relevant experience with previous experience of project management who has a strong commitment to customer service with excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team.

This is an opportunity to make a visible contribution to the University environment, helping to create effective, inclusive and sustainable spaces that support students, staff and visitors.

You will work across a varied portfolio of projects and operational activities, collaborating with colleagues at all levels and helping to shape the future use of the University estate.

This is a hybrid working role, with an expectation of a minimum of 3 days on Campus.

Closing date: Monday 2nd November 2026 (23:59)

Working here means you’ll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.

Leeds Beckett University is a Disability Confident Employer. Disabled candidates who demonstrate all essential criteria within the Person Specification will be invited to an interview.
