About the role

Staffordshire University has embarked on an ambitious and unique transformation in the Higher Education sector where we strive to become the UK's leading Digital University.

To help deliver this, we need to build new capability to support our Digital Vision and we are now expanding our core skills with a new Solutions Developer role. If you're ready to make a difference to our Higher Education environment, be ambitious, brilliant and innovative, we think our Solutions Developer role with Staffordshire University is the way forward. Working alongside other developers in the team, you'll be building solutions that enhance experiences for students, applicants and staff, across multiple delivery channels. As part of the Digital Solutions team, you will be working on:

  • Mobile apps (including our award-winning Beacon app)
  • Web applications
  • Databases (including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server)
  • Dynamics 365
  • Automating processes
  • Analytics, machine learning and AI
  • As a Solutions Developer, you'll have professional experience in development using languages and frameworks such as:

  • C#
  • Microsoft .NET
  • SQL
  • Node.js
  • ReactJS
  • JavaScript
  • SharePoint
  • You'll have a good working knowledge of source code control and be able to build solutions from specifications, process maps and Unified Modelling Language (UML) documentation. You'll be used to developing in an agile way, with working knowledge of DevOps.

    Main Responsibilities

    The main responsibilities for our Solutions Developer role will be:

  • Development and integrating software solutions across a variety of platforms including web applications, mobile apps, SITS and D365,
  • Assisting with the design and specification of software solutions that meet business requirements.
