Your new role We are seeking an innovative and experienced Software Developer II to join our Digital Experiences team at Curtin University. Our Digital Experiences development team leverage AWS service platforms to design and tailor our systems to elevate the digital user experience for our staff and students. This position will work closely with Senior Developers to establish front-end development patterns, supporting and enabling other development teams within DTS to build upon this foundation. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, including AI agents designed to enhance information search capabilities and streamline administrative tasks for the University. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the development team to design, code, test, and document solutions and enhancements based on business needs and problems
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to design, coding, testing, deployment, technical documentation, and support.
  • Contribute to development efforts and assist in setting technical standards for applications and services.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends and recommending innovative solutions to enhance our systems and processes.
  • Qualifications and Essential Experience:

  • Relevant degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional front-end software development experience.
  • Technical knowledge and proficiency using React, Remix, Typescript and Tailwind
  • Working knowledge and experience with AWS and Cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of good software development practices, including design patterns, coding standards, practices, and principles.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies as needed.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Work Requirements:

  • Must have current work rights in Australia.
  • Based in Perth, WA or have confirmed plans to relocate. Relocation and sponsorship support are not available.
