Social work course schedule will vary, faculty must be willing and able to teach both days and evenings. Faculty teach 4 courses (in both BSSW and MSW programs). Five additional office hours per week are required.

Position Summary Information

Position Summary

Slippery Rock University invites applications for a full time, tenure track Social Work Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach in both the BSSW and MSW programs. The ability to teach clinical courses, including assessment and evidence-based interventions is required. Experience in both in-person and online teaching is necessary. This position is unique and will be required to assist students in understanding, preparing, and starting the process for social work licensure. Prior supervisory experience (including as a field supervisor) is beneficial. All faculty are required to engage in scholarship and service as well.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate in social work or a closely related field required at time of employment. MSW (from CSWE accredited program) is required with a minimum of 3 years post-MSW practice experience. PA social work license (LSW required, LCSW preferred) or PA license eligible (PA licensure required at time of employment) Demonstrated commitment to the education of diverse populations, and Successful performance in an on campus interview and teaching demonstration

Preferred Qualifications

Forensic social work, crisis intervention and/or animal-assisted intervention practice experience preferred. Prior experience as a field instructor/supervisor.
