About the position
The Social Media and Content Advisor is responsible for assisting in the
management of La Trobe's most high-profile social media accounts, creating
high quality digital content and engaging with key stakeholders including
prospective students, current students, partners and staff.
Reporting to the Social Media Manager, the successful incumbent will focus on
raising the profile of La Trobe University across diverse audiences
(including international) while protecting its reputation across a multi-
channel communications environment.
Some of your key duties will include:
Plan, curate and produce creative, informative and engaging digital
content (video, graphic design and copywriting) for official social
media channels representing La Trobe as well as for other platforms as
required for a range of markets and audiences including international.
Coordinate and deliver outstanding social media customer service on La
Trobe's official social media channels.
Evaluate, measure and report on the performance of social content,
campaigns and strategies.
Contribute to social media elements of campaigns, working with
stakeholders from across the University.
Develop a deep understanding of different key markets and stakeholders
(including international and domestic) in order to develop targeted
content that resonates with those audiences.
Skills and Experience
Degree with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and
principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the
development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad
knowledge in an administrative field, or an equivalent alternate
combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
Qualifications in communications, media, marketing, public relations,
professional writing, or another related field and/or 2-3 years'
experience in social media and development of digital content (written,
multimedia).
Exceptional written and multimedia (video, design & photography) skills
supporting the creation and preparation of written, image & video content.
Experience representing a brand or organisation on social media
(including provision of social media customer service and drawing
insights from social media analytics).
Experience with an enterprise social media tool (including listening,
publishing and analytics).
A proven ability to operate autonomously, managing competing priorities to
achieve quality outcomes.
