The position is located out of the Coquitlam campus and will require travel to other Training Group sites to provide Skills for Success Program support.

The Role

The S4S Practitioner Instructor & Programs Support role is twofold:

  • Assist to develop and deliver Skills for Success Practitioner Certificate program courses
  • Provide assistance to integrate and deliver Skills for Success in other Training Group Programs that primarily target vulnerable populations.
  • Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include:

    Skills for Success Practitioner Certificate Program:

  • Develop and deliver courses in face to face and online format (Blackboard, Articulate Rise, Storyline and/or alternative software);
  • Monitor student progress;
  • Provide individual coaching and support as required;
  • Maintain record of grades and submit final grading form;
  • Review student evaluations and make adjustments as necessary;
  • Meet with S4S Practitioner Certificate program team and contribute to continuous improvements.
  • Skills for Success Program Support:

  • Provide other staff and assessment distributors with S4S Assessment training;
  • Assist with administering, interpreting and debriefing S4S Assessments;
  • Support the integration of S4S into other programs by assisting with curriculum development and delivery and training of other staff;
  • Provide support to community and project partners;
  • Maintain and share Skills for Success activities and curriculum;
  • Monitor project progress and provide ongoing support as needed;
  • Assist with providing coverage in Training Group programs as required.
  • Administration:

  • Promote, cultivate and maintain partnerships and active participation in internal and external networks (such as the national Skills for Success network);
  • Assist with development of ISO program guides;
  • Maintain records of monthly activities and complete reports as required;
  • Contribute to ISO quality management system
  • Miscellaneous as required.
  • To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Workplace training or related subject area;
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working in labour market transition training programs for adults including vulnerable populations;
  • Have a passion for assisting adult learners from diverse backgrounds to build foundational skills for work, learning and life;
  • Possess strong knowledge of the labour market and Canada's Skills Frameworks;
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and a proven ability to develop networks and foster effective and collaborative working relationships with diverse groups;
  • Demonstrate creativity and the ability to innovate;
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and coordinate multiple projects where conflicting priorities may arise;
  • Have highly developed interpersonal communication and team-building skills;
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills;
  • Understand the value and commitment to continuous improvement through a quality management system;
  • Possess strong technical skills and the ability to use LMS (Blackboard) and various software such as Storyline and Articulate Rise;
  • Experience working with Essential Skills Programming an asset;
  • ESPT Certificate an asset.
