  • About the Role The Service Improvement Lead is responsible for creating and embedding a continuous improvement framework and mindset while enhancing the Infrastructure Services team and faculty's process and continuous improvement maturity. The Infrastructure Services team are responsible for managing new and existing facilities, laboratory and technical services, health safety and wellbeing, change & communications for the Faculty.

    As the successful applicant, you will achieve this by overseeing the effectiveness of the service improvement team, including standard operating procedure design and implementation, system development and embedding the right reporting and compliance measures.

    This role plays a pivotal part in fostering collaboration across university services to ensure consistent practices. You will report directly to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing and Service Improvement Manager.

    Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide direction to and oversee the performance of the service improvement team to deliver services that support Infrastructure Services team.
  • Building and embedding a Continuous Improvement framework and culture.
  • Provide monitoring, reporting and advice to the FEIT executive on business improvement opportunities to drive effective and efficient operations and a continuous improvement ethos.
  • Implement business rules for the charge out system for the use of the workshop, equipment and spaces, and technical and laboratory service staff.
  • Who We Are Looking For You are a skilled communicator, having experience in using data to influence decision making to drive compliance and foster a continuous improvement culture. You can demonstrate your experience in team management, building and cultivating effective relationships with your stakeholders, and supporting personal development. Additionally, strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills are necessary to prioritise and develop innovative solutions across multiple concurrent projects.

    You will also have:

  • A relevant degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or educational training.
  • Knowledge and experience of working within a certified quality management system (e.g. ISO 9001)
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking, ability to generate ideas to solve local problems and recommend improvements to current work practices.
