Hybrid working – This is a hybrid role that offers flexible working between home and our Streatham Campus.

What you'll be doing…

The Service Designer will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering user-centered services by conducting research, creating service blueprints, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to prototype and improve services. This role ensures user needs remain central to service delivery while aligning with broader organisational goals and standards.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving user experiences and driving innovation through thoughtful service design.

  • Researches and understands our users, using insight to inform strategy and decision making and make sure their voice is heard
  • Creates and improves interactions, journeys and experiences for all users as we make Exeter the most accessible university destination
  • Follows agile practices to work across our chapters

  • We're really looking for…

  • Experience in User-Centered Design : Strong capability in conducting user research, synthesising findings, and creating personas, service blueprints, and user journeys.
  • Prototyping and Testing : Proficiency in prototyping service concepts and iterating based on user feedback and data insights.
  • Communication and Storytelling : Strong visual and verbal communication skills to convey complex service designs and influence stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking : Capability to align service designs with organisational objectives and manage competing priorities.
  • Agile Methodology: Experience working in agile environments, adapting to changing priorities, and leveraging agile tools.
  • Accessibility and Inclusivity: Expertise in inclusive design, ensuring services meet diverse user needs and accessibility standards.
  • Ability to break down barriers and build lasting relationships across the team and University
