  • About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to join our Digital Design & Service Experience (DDSE) team, where you will lead and inspire the practice of Human-centred Design mindset and methods on various projects and initiatives. You will apply your knowledge and expertise to multiple functional initiatives to discover suitable potential solutions and enhance experiences for our stakeholders. Some engagements will have clearly defined objectives, while others will require an experimental and flexible mindset, offering the perfect opportunity to expand your expertise and knowledge in other areas. To support your growth, we provide excellent mentoring and training programs for our staff.

    As a Service Design Lead, you will lead initiatives and gain experience in service projects that address complex service design and service challenges. Additionally, you will have the chance to collaborate within a skilled, enthusiastic, dynamic, and supportive team, fostering your career growth.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Design Manager to drive the growth of Design capability across all roles in the DDSE team and delivering capability uplift for project stakeholders and in the broader University community.
  • Leading small- and large-scale design initiatives to deliver human centred designed services for our students, academics and staff
  • Work with and manage relationships with ~~~~ stakeholders and across the University to engage them and advocate for the value of Design methods, tools and mindset to address complex problems and opportunities
  • Communicate the initiative and design to others through customer journeys, storyboards, ecosystem and service designs, prototypes, infographics and other artifacts
  • Discover customer and business needs through contextual inquiries, generative and quantitative research, and identify solutions to meet those needs
  • Who we are looking for We're looking for people who are able to build and maintain stakeholder relationships. You will also need excellent verbal and written communication skills, an eye for visual design and a mindset for continuous improvement. You'll be tenacious, curious and adaptive with a community spirit.

    You will also have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Practical experience and broad knowledge of the practice of Human-centred Design and especially Service design
  • Solid understanding of Design Thinking
  • A folio showcasing examples of your knowledge and experience with the Design Council's double diamond

    This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to- date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
