Senior Technical Officer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 524280) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have a Master's degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology or related disciplines, with at least 2 years' hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology and medical genetics. Registration with the Hong Kong Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Board; prior experience in molecular genetics, whole genome, exome sequencing and bioinformatics; and knowledge of result processing and data analysis would have advantages. They should have experience in setting up PCR and DNA Sanger sequencing reaction; and be reliable, honest, committed, self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility, and be able to work independently as well as in a team. The appointee will perform laboratory work and analysis on molecular genetics, and assist in research and development of new molecular technique in a prenatal diagnostic laboratory.
