Senior Teaching Associate - Artificial Intelligence and Society

The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) delivers high quality and distinctive educational programmes for adult learners, predominantly studying part-time, for either personal enrichment or professional development. Our mission is to enable learning throughout life and to widen access to higher education, and we aim to ensure that the expertise and resources of the University of Cambridge are made available to all students, irrespective of their educational background.

We have developed a portfolio of interdisciplinary courses across different levels seeking to develop learners' knowledge and skills to critically and independently assess developments in the world around them. One example of this is the Master of Studies in AI Ethics and Society course, delivered in partnership between the ICE and the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI), which seeks to equip students with the expertise and skills necessary for critically understanding and responding to the complex socio-technical systems underpinning our greatest AI opportunities and challenges.

To support the ongoing delivery of our learning and teaching in this area and its further development, we wish to appoint a part-time Senior Teaching Associate. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for contributing to the learning and teaching programme, as well as supporting the delivery and development of ICE's wider continuing education offer.

The successful candidate will have a recognised scholarly profile in interdisciplinary AI studies, as well as proven track record in delivering excellent learning and teaching. Candidates with experience of designing and delivering learning and teaching for part-time, distant learning students, as well as a commitment to work flexibly to meet the needs of our students are particularly encouraged to apply.

Informal enquiries are encouraged and can be made to Dr Christopher Huggins, Director of Academic Programmes ([email protected]). Questions about the application process may be directed to: [email protected].
