  • The Student Funds team at Kingston University is seeking a Senior Student Funds Coordinator to work within the Student Advice team administering, assessing and awarding a suite of student support funds.

    You will contribute to the delivery of student support funds, ensuring a proactive approach to recurring tasks and the updating of key marketing and student information.

    You will have primary responsibility for the administration of the main Kingston bursary using the Bursary Administration Service (BAS) on the Student Loans Company (SLC) portal.

    You will administer all processes related to US Federal & Private loans and US Veterans Benefits, responding to queries from US applicants & students on their entitlements & disbursements.

    The role is primarily based at our Penrhyn Road campus with some working from home considered, in line with current University policy and business need. Occasional work by rota on Saturdays is required to support student recruitment events (for which time off in lieu will be given).

    The Person

    You will have knowledge of student funding processes in at least one area e.g. bursary/scholarship administration, US federal aid, Student Loans Company loans. The ideal candidate would have experience in, or an interest in gaining experience in, the administration of US federal aid which constitutes a significant element of the role.

    You will have strong data and systems abilities including manipulating data using spreadsheets, generating reports from large datasets and the ability to use a variety of IT systems. The ideal candidate would have experience in using the SITS record system or SLC Higher Education Portal.

    You will have excellent organisational abilities, including an ability to manage priorities/workloads and solve problems using your own initiative.

    This Directorate plays a vital role in the retention and success of students at Kingston University. By taking a holistic, cohesive approach to the effective provision of services to our 17,000 students, we aim to enhance their experience through support that is effective and also responsive to their changing needs.

    The Student Services team provides the University's first and second line services for students incorporating the Information Centre, Library and Learning Services, Specialist Course Support and Administration, Student Engagement and Student Life, Health and Wellbeing. Services are designed to be accessible and inclusive of all students, to ensure their enquiries are resolved quickly and support is available to enable them to fully engage with and succeed in their studies.

    This is a full time, fixed term position for 12 months with a starting salary of £37,646 per annum.
