  • About This Opportunity

    As a Senior Student Experience Officer, you will play a key role in fostering a sense of community, engagement, and belonging among HASS students. You will develop and deliver initiatives that support students as they transition into university life and prepare for their future. This is a rewarding role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to enhancing the student journey.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead orientation and induction initiatives to support student transition into university life.

  • Coordinate large-scale community events and activities for student cohorts.

  • Partner with students, staff, alumni, and clubs to implement impactful projects, including recruiting and training paid and volunteer student leaders.

  • Develop and maintain outreach channels, including social media, websites, and event communications.

  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance engagement.

  • Monitor budgets and ensure timely processing of invoices for projects and events.

  • Streamline processes and guidelines to improve student engagement efforts.

  • About You

  • Completion of a Bachelor degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise in student engagement; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and coordinating projects to improve the student experience in a higher education environment, particularly in relation to enhancing student belonging and/or employability.

  • Experience working in partnership with a diverse range of students at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, particularly students, senior staff and industry.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently, prioritise own workload and meet deadlines.

  • The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and criminal check
