About the Role:
As the Senior Student Experience Coordinator, Communications and Engagement, you will support students across key stages of their academic journey, with a focus on transition, early-stage progression and meaningful connection with Faculty of Business and Law programs and services. Working closely with the Director, Student Engagement and a range of internal partners, you will help plan and deliver initiatives that improve how students receive timely, relevant and practical information.

The Communication and Engagement Team leads a strategic, student-first approach to Faculty communications. Rather than relying on generic messaging, the team develops targeted content and campaigns that align with key academic, engagement and employability milestones, helping students make informed decisions and take up relevant opportunities.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to segmented campaigns, digital content, channel governance, stakeholder reporting and the Faculty’s yearly engagement plans, while using data and student feedback to strengthen reach, engagement andimpact. This is a critical role embedded in a fast-paced working environment, that requires a creative, adaptable and innovative individual.

Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an organised, creative and collaborative communications and engagement professional who can develop clear student-facing content, coordinate digital campaigns, manage competing priorities and use insights to improve outcomes. The successful applicant will be confident building relationships, presenting information clearly and supporting initiatives that enhance the Faculty student experience.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Manage, develop and implement communication strategies, campaigns, channels and projects that support the Faculty’s student experience priorities.
  • Create and deliver targeted digital content that provides students with timely, relevant information across key academic, engagement and employability milestones.
  • Communicate Faculty initiatives to stakeholders through presentations, meetings, documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinate student voice activities, including focus groups, consultations, surveys and other feedback channels, to inform Faculty planning and improve the student experience.
  • Promote Faculty programs and activities to increase student participation, including support for clubs and societies, Students as Partners initiatives and broader engagement opportunities.
  • Analyse content and campaign performance, share insights with stakeholders and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and monitor governance across current student digital channels to support consistency, quality and best practice.
  • Liaise and collaborate with Student Services, University Marketing, Curtin Global and Student Lifecycle Experience staff, as relevant.
  • Support the creation, administration, monitoring and reporting of the Faculty of Business and Law’s yearly engagement plans.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and support to the Student Experience Advisor, Communication and Engagement and casual staff.
  • Undertake research and benchmarking on digital trends, competitor activity and emerging best practice relevant to student communications and engagement.
  • Undertake other activities reasonably required and consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities of the role.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • A degree qualification and considerable relevant experience; extensive experience managing functional projects or activities; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to coordinate initiatives and deliver outcomes within agreed constraints.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage others and present information clearly and professionally.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work, manage competing demands and support multiple stakeholders.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited direction, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience developing, analysing and improving digital content or communication strategies across student, customer or community engagement channels.
  • Sound judgement, initiative and a student-centred approach to communications and engagement activities.
Role Requirements:
  1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered. This is a full-time role; however, flexible work arrangements, including adjustment to 0.8 FTE, can be discussed.
  2. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.
