Senior Researcher in Wearable Sensors

Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford), Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford

The Oxford University Big Data Institute (BDI) is an interdisciplinary research centre aiming to develop, evaluate and deploy efficient methods for acquiring and analysing biomedical data at scale and for exploiting the opportunities arising from such studies.

We are seeking a Senior Researcher to develop new methods for the remote assessment of health relevant traits in large-scale epidemiological studies. You will develop new lines of enquiry around the collection and analysis of smartphone and wearable datasets where it is now possible to capture new information at scale on activities of daily living.

To be considered, you will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil, have significant post- qualification research experience in an area of relevance to the remote assessment of health relevant traits via smartphones and/or wearables in large-scale epidemiological studies, have a strong publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field, as well as excellent team working and communication skills.

This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 2 years. The closing date for applications is noon on 19 March 2024.

For informal queries about the position, please contact Aiden Doherty ([email protected]).

You will be required to upload a CV and a cover letter as part of your online application. The cover letter should clearly describe how you meet each of the selection criteria listed in the job description.
