1 Year Specific Purpose Whole Time Appointment

We are currently recruiting a Senior Research Co-ordinator to oversee the coordination of the Fonterra Microbiome Research Centre programme as well as to facilitate future industry engagements at APC Microbiome Ireland.

This Senior Research Co-ordinator role will be interdisciplinary liaising with industry partners such as Fonterra Microbiome Research Centre staff and supporting their integration into the APC ecosystem at UCC. They will assist in the co-ordination of research projects, taking part in discussions to align internal and external stakeholders on scope, time and costs within these multidisciplinary programmes. They will support the dynamic research environment that may lead to the amendment/creation of current/future research contracts between Fonterra Microbiome Research Centre as well as other future industry partners with APC. This position requires a full-time Senior Research Co-ordinator responsible for oversight of the research projects, strategic management of the teams involved, day-to-day operations, protocols and reports, research ethics submissions, monitoring of project deliverables, timelines & budget, liaising with collaborators and aligned stakeholders, and engaging in regular team meetings. The candidate will have significant large project management experience, dealing with a complex team of researchers/stakeholders and a PhD in microbiology, or a relevant field.

Knowledge and experience with probiotics or microbiome-based dairy/food solutions would be highly desirable. The successful individual will be self- motivated with a background in high level independent research. Candidates should have the ability to work on their own initiative and to manage and prioritise a varied workload, as well as being able to work as part of a team. They should possess excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders. The post will demand that the holder will be able to work to a very high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

The Senior Research Coordinator will have 10+ years of experience in the management and administration of large, multi-centre, multi-partner, multi- national research, collaboration and infrastructure projects.

Salary: €68,000 p.a. (Personal Rate)
