Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Anaesthesiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 524668) (to commence as soon as possible for up to two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a B.Sc. degree or an M.Phil. degree in Biological/Medical Sciences or a related discipline. They should be self- motivated, responsible, able to work independently and in a team, fluent in written and spoken English, and competent in basic computer database management. Familiarity or experience with gene sequencing or gene manipulation will be an advantage. Applicants with lower qualification and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I/II.
The appointee will be involved in laboratory research work in the area of neuroscience and be expected to be competent in basic laboratory techniques such as Western Blot, PCR, cell culture and small animal handling.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Appointment on 2-year fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
