Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Postdoctoral fellows and/or Project Principal Investigators in
the overall management of the project
Assist in patient recruitment, data collection in face-to-face interviews
(individual or focus group) and surveys
Prepare transcription and translation of the audio-taped scripts
Data management and analysis
Prepare reports and manuscripts
Handle inquiries from related parties
Assist in the logistics arrangement for public engagement events and
project coordination
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Possess a Bachelor's degree or above in healthcare-related or social
sciences disciplines including but not limited to pharmacy, nursing,
psychology, public health, social work and social administration or a
related field with substantial training in qualitative research
Experience in conducting qualitative studies (e.g. patient recruitment,
conducting individual and/or focus group interviews, designing
questionnaires for survey studies, data collection and analysis using
qualitative methods and various tools, e.g. NVivo, Quadrics) or mixed
methods will be an advantage, but not essential
A strong background in local and international research related
applications (e.g. grants and IRBs) and management systems will have an
advantage
Excellent coordination, organization and problem-solving skills
A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese)
A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently as
well as in a team
Attentive to details
Those with higher qualifications and more experience will be appointed as
Research Assistant I or Senior Research Assistant.
What We Offer
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis
or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to
satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary
commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The
appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University
contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other
benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus
