    The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.

    The Operations Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.

    The Operations Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life globally. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

    The Information Technology Services (ITS) function provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. Our vision of “unleashing technologies to enable great experiences for RMIT communities” supports a proactive and leading-edge technology ecosystem, mindset, and delivery, empowering the advancement of the University's commitment to advancing Lifelong Learners.

    Within ITS function, the relevant groups are:

  • The Office of the CIO (oCIO) provides strategic and operational leadership and support across Technology, ensuring an effective operating rhythm that is well-defined to enable a capability-led technology function and continuing to develop and mature best in class Technology Governance, Risk and Compliance and Organisational Change Management (OCM). Additionally, the oCIO is responsible for partnering with Finance, Communications, and Procurement

  • Portfolio and Planning department. Handles governance and delivery of approved enterprise and technology projects in line with RMIT and ITS strategy and manages a sizeable portfolio of projects across RMIT Global (Australia, Vietnam, Europe, and partners).

  • The Role

    The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders within the Delivery Portfolio, platform squads, value stream, and BAU activities to define the scope of testing, identify test scenarios and opportunities for automation, develop and execute functional test cases, and manage defect triage processes. Taking on a proactive role, the Senior QA Analyst will work closely with developers, business analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure that designs and built solutions meet business needs and are of high-quality standards.

    The Senior QA Analyst will be an expert in the testing domain in which he/she operates and will provide consultative advice to stakeholders as required. The Senior QA Analyst will support Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and wider Project Team members in completing project tasks and deliverables related to testing activities, e.g., analysis, planning, and estimates.

    The Senior QA Analyst will also be a key contributor to the QA Practice and play an active role in sharing knowledge and skills with other QA Analysts.

    Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with global digital transformation programs. Experience with software testing as part of IT development, implementation of applications or infrastructure projects & programs, including Agile and Waterfall initiatives and projects

  • Solid knowledge and experience in the use of Testing tools and product suites, including Jira and Test management software

  • A Team player and contributor, demonstrates curiosity and a will to learn and become an expert in our systems and platforms as well as the business capabilities and processes enabled through the platforms

  • Good knowledge of API Testing and API Testing tools such as ReadyAPI, Postman, JMeter

  • Understanding and ability to create automated test cases using automation tools like Selenium

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a technical team with an ability to mentor other technical team members as required

  • Good knowledge of SQL and Data Warehousing with the ability to write complex SQL queries

  • Broad technical acumen across application platforms, cloud infrastructure, network, development frameworks, and UX/UI

  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively on multiple projects

  • Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualified, with a degree in Information Technology related fields with at least 8 years of

  • relevant experience, from which at least 3 years of Senior Testing Analyst; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

  • ISTQB Certification preferable but not essential
