Working as a member of the Commercial and Portfolio Team, you will be responsible for the definition and delivery of medium to large projects which link with the goals and ambitions of the University's strategy and objectives. The role will lead discussions with the University's key stakeholders, to produce detailed specifications for projects and develop approaches throughout the project life cycle. This includes defining budgets and delivery plans for projects within the IT portfolio.
Working with the Head of IT Commercial and Portfolio Management, the role will deliver projects bringing transformational and organisational change to working practices. There is an emphasis on Cloud Smart principles and continual service improvement to ensure new services deliver a high-quality service for the University's staff and students.
This role requires strong stakeholder management skills, alongside the need for ownership and drive to ensure that project resources are committed and delivering to project timelines.
The PersonBackground and Experience Required:
You should have previous experience leading large projects or possess skills that are demonstrably transferable to this role. You will have experience in project planning, project reporting, financial tracking, stakeholder management, and managing project boards.
Projects in the Digital Portfolio predominantly involve the implementation of software applications and SaaS solutions supplied by third parties. Therefore, experience with procurement processes and the management of suppliers would be beneficial.
