Are you ready to take on a leadership role and shape the future of UQ's research funding? As Senior Manager, Pre-Award, you will drive process improvements, elevate service delivery, and provide strategic support for major funding bids, ensuring UQ's continued research excellence.
In this influential role, you will lead a dynamic team dedicated to securing competitive funding, collaborating with stakeholders to position UQ for success on the global stage. Your leadership will enable the team to deliver exceptional support, implement innovative solutions, and continually enhance service standards.

Key responsibilities will include :
Provide leadership, training, mentoring and support to the Pre-Award team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Manage the submission of competitive funding applications, ensuring compliance with university policies and funding body requirements while maintaining data integrity.
Collaborate with the Major Initiatives team to develop and curate programmatic grant opportunities, enhancing UQ's strategic positioning in the research funding landscape.
Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging feedback and benchmarking to optimise workflows and deliver exceptional support to researchers and stakeholders.

Extensive experience in pre-award grants support, including crafting, editing, and critiquing proposals, and delivering workshops, seminars and writing guides.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian higher education sector, its funding opportunities, and the international research funding landscape.
Proven ability to manage and lead a team in a service-orientated, customer focused environment.
Demonstrated expertise in improving workflows, enhancing service delivery, and implementing innovative solutions.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage projects and meet multiple competing deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide expert advice to diverse stakeholders.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
