  • About the position

    Reporting to the Associate Dean, Partnerships, the Senior Manager will specialise in developing strategic partnerships for the School of Education. They will possess proven experience in driving business growth and fostering innovation. The role will entail engagement with a range of external stakeholders, involving the forging of ties with education, government, industry and community-based organisations. A keen understanding of business and development opportunities is essential for excelling in the role.

    A significant aspect of the Senior Manager's role is the operational management of the award-winning Nexus program, an innovative component of the High Achieving Teachers Program (HAT) that offers an employment-based teaching pathway. Operational management includes overseeing all administrative aspects of the Nexus program, including budget development and maintenance, expenditure monitoring, and government reporting on program outcomes. They will monitor and ensure compliance with all aspects of Nexus and the School's other partnerships agreements, including the agreement(s) with the federal Department of Education. This position is fixed-term, until the end of December 2025, with the possibility of extension.

    A selection of your duties will include:

  • Leading major projects and initiatives with significant resources and/or strategic impact.
  • Representing the University externally in sector groups and negotiations.
  • Preparing and delivering regular reports to the government regarding the progress and performance of Nexus student intakes, in alignment with the partnership agreement.
  • Preparing and developing tender proposals in response to Requests for Proposals, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with the School's strategic direction.
  • Collaborating with the Business Development team in the Office of the PVC Industry Engagement and the Partnership Operations team, along with the Associate Dean, Partnerships and the School Senior Manager, to create new partnership agreements for potential industry partners.
  • Ensuring compliance with all aspects of Nexus and other partnerships agreements within the School; Collaborating with the OPV's Partnership Operations team to manage the lifecycle of placement and work-based learning agreements.
  • Overseeing the implementation of the School's strategy for short courses.
  • Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in managing and controlling substantial budget, resources, and funding, along with an understanding of financial management procedures.
  • Awareness of TEQSA compliance requirements and an understanding of the Higher Education landscape in Australia would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Experience in dealing with or drafting partnership agreements, budget proposals, and project timelines.
  • Understanding of partnership and/or business development approaches; experience working with a PRM/CRM, ideally Salesforce.
