    About Us and This Opportunity

    Embark on an exciting journey with the First Nations Cancer & Wellbeing Research (FNCWR) Program, guided by the visionary Professor Gail Garvey within the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine.

    This Indigenous-led and multidisciplinary initiative pioneers innovative research methodologies that honour cultural sensitivity and co-design principles. Fuelled by major competitive funding, including prestigious grants from NHMRC, ARC, and MRFF the program is a powerhouse of cutting-edge endeavours.

    The Senior Manager will steer the course towards establishing and maintaining a national network for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers. Collaborating closely with the Executive Group, Cultural and Community Council, and the four program leads, this strategic leader ensures the efficient implementation of a transformative plan, fostering empowerment and optimal health for Australia's Indigenous communities. The FNCWR Program is not just a research endeavour; it's a dynamic force shaping the future of Indigenous wellbeing and resilience.

    About You

    The University of Queensland considers that being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991(Qld)

    This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) fixed-term position through until March 2027. A competitive remuneration will be negotiated with the preferred applicant.

    The following flexible employment options may be available for this role: some working from home; variable start or finish times; compressed hours; purchased leave; flex-time. There may be opportunity for additional hours or extension of contract, pending research grant outcomes.
