Senior Manager/Manager (Marketing and Events) (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I/Administrative Assistant II) in the Communications and Public Affairs Office of the Registry (Ref.: 526141) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal).

The Communications and Public Affairs Office (CPAO) of the Registry of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) enhances HKU's reputation through branding, events, digital communications, media relations, and more. The office is also responsible for University events and ceremonies, publications, both external and internal communications, crisis management and community engagement. CPAO is currently elevating and expanding its scope of services. We are looking for talented candidates to join the team.

The key responsibilities of the Senior Manager/Manager (Marketing and Events) are to:

  • support the Director and Assistant Directors in the effective development and execution of marketing and community engagement activities;
  • lead the organization of various kinds of ceremonial and public activities to promote the University's image;
  • plan and oversee the implementation of publicity plans for events;
  • oversee and supervise the development of marketing collaterals for events, including brochures, booklets, invitations, events video highlights, onsite decoration etc.; and
  • perform any other ad-hoc duties (including projects) that may arise from time to time.
  • Requirements:

  • a good University's degree in marketing, communications or a relevant discipline;
  • a minimum of eight years' relevant experience, with at least three years in a managerial position for consideration of appointment as Senior Manager; or at least five years' relevant experience, with at least two years in a supervisory position for consideration of appointment as Manager;
  • the ability to manage fast-moving projects and collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams in a complicated environment;
  • self-motivated and able to work under pressure;
  • value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service;
  • experience in Higher Education and Service sectors is a plus;
  • excellent command of English and Chinese;
  • excellent command of web technologies, social media platform trends, data analytics for marketing; and
  • willingness to work outside regular work hours and on a duty roster, and subject to job rotation within CPAO.
  • Compensation and Benefits:

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary for the Senior Manager post, and up to 10% of the basic salary for the Manager post.
