The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) in CUHK Faculty of Medicine strives to nurture health professionals and the next generation of biomedical scientists to engage in research, entrepreneurship, and health services. We are looking for passionate and highly motivated candidates to join our innovative and energetic teaching team in the Division of Education of the School of Biomedical Sciences, which has a proven track record in leading innovative teaching projects and pedagogical studies. Candidates are expected to have received training or teaching experience in at least one of the following areas: pharmacology, histology, or anatomy (gross anatomy, neuroanatomy). For teaching post in anatomy, candidates with a background in physiotherapy or occupational therapy would also be considered.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree in biomedical sciences or related disciplines, have at least 8 years of post-PhD teaching experience in the higher education sector . Candidates should

  • understand the landscape and challenges of higher education;

  • have experience in curriculum and course design;

  • commitment to education and professional development;

  • strive for excellence in educating future health professionals; and

  • be a good team player with excellent communication skills.

  • The appointee is expected to work with the team on curriculum review, lead education and pedagogical projects, and have the capacity to share good teaching practices or provide staff training. The appointee will be engaged in teaching undergraduate preclinical and biomedical sciences subjects, student mentoring, course coordination, and other teaching-related administrative duties.

    Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
