Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Information Management and/or Social Data Science in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 526866) , to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in Information Management and/or Social Data Science, or a closely related field, a relevant professional/teaching qualification, and at least 5 years' post-qualification teaching experience in any specialism of information retrieval, information resources and services, data science, data engineering, responsible data science, or related areas. Teaching experience in a university setting, an understanding of information management and social data science as they relate to education, knowledge of the local context, and leadership in curriculum development would be strong advantages. Course information can be found on the web pages of the Bachelor of Science in Information Management and Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Social Data Science programmes of the Faculty. Applicants with strong academic background, proven ability for sustained high-quality teaching, and demonstrated capabilities in leading curriculum development and pedagogical innovation may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer.
The appointee will undertake substantial teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels related to information management and/or social data science. He/She will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students and perform administrative duties as appropriate.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided for appointment as Senior Lecturer as applicable.
