Post Title: Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics

SBU/Department : Life & Medical Sciences / Clinical, Pharmaceutical and Biological Science

FTE: 1FTE (working 37 hours per week)

Duration of Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 20 weeks (must finish on the 31st of July 2024)

Salary: UH8 £44,263pa to 56,021pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire

We are seeking a motivated, committed and proactive registered dietitian who has either experience in teaching or in practice or research in Nutrition or Dietetics. Experience in teaching in higher education or involvement in dietetic placement supervision would be an advantage.

The Bioscience, Agriculture, Nutrition & Dietetics (BAND) team is part of the Department of Clinical, Pharmaceutical, and Biological Sciences which focuses on some of life sciences' most exciting and rapidly evolving disciplines. The Department is active in research, consultancy and training with strong links to education and commerce worldwide.

The opportunity may be of interest to an experienced dietitian from practice who is interested in developing their skills in higher education teaching and learning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will work within the BAND Subject Group in developing and delivering existing undergraduate and postgraduate modules on programmes within the School of Life and Medical Sciences. The teaching contribution is flexible but will involve Nutrition and Dietetics focused teaching.

Skills and Experience

You will be a registered dietitian and have either experience in teaching or in practice or research in Nutrition or Dietetics. You may also have experience in teaching in higher education or involvement in dietetic placement supervision.

Qualifications Required

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an Honours Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics. They will also have either a postgraduate qualification, i.e. Masters or PhD (completed or close to completion, in a relevant field or be working at a clinical level as a dietitian equivalent to Band 7 in the NHS or in the private sector. Registration with the HCPC or eligible to apply for registration is also essential.
