The above part time post (0.2 FTE) is immediately available until 31 March 2025 in DClinPGR, Psychology.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
The role
The Faculty wishes to recruit a part-time (0.2 FTE) Clinical Lead for the DClinPsy PGR Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology, (part of the DClinPGR portfolio of Programmes) based within the Department of Psychology at the University of Exeter.
Within DClinPsy, you and the Clinical Practice Director, will have joint responsibility for managing and monitoring the clinical aspects of the training programme and the related implementation interface with services and key stakeholders. You will share responsibility for the associated operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement (including accreditation / registration by relevant professional institutions where appropriate). You will work with the Clinical Practice Director to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the clinical aspects of the DClinPsy programme in accord with the College's education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy, supporting the effective transfer of clinical education into operational delivery. You will also contribute directly to teaching on the programme where appropriate and to the development. You will contribute directly and significantly to the selection, interviewing and recruitment of trainee clinical psychologists applying for and entering the University of Exeter Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training programme. In common with all clinical psychologists the job holder will receive regular supervision and meets continuous professional development as recommended by the BPS.
Exeter has been training clinical psychologists for over 40 years, and the course has strong links with local NHS Trusts and third sector services. The Streatham Campus, the University's largest site in Exeter, is built around a country estate overlook the city and is readily acknowledged as one of the most beautiful in the country. All teaching buildings, together with the sports park, the library, the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars are within walking distance of each other. About you
For a Senior Lecturer Clinical Lead post you will:
Be able to demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development as recommended by the BPS and have experience of supervising clinical psychology trainees.
Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities.
Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
