    About the Role

    Reporting to the Manager: Network Services, you will design, implement, and support cutting-edge enterprise solutions utilising industry-leading network and security technologies such as Cisco or equivalent platforms. Your expertise will not only contribute to the operational excellence of the University's Network Service technologies but also position you as a key figure providing specialised advice on their operation and development.

    As a technical leader, you will play a vital role in fostering the professional growth of team members, end users, IT support, and other staff through comprehensive training initiatives. Collaborating closely with business users, you will uncover their future Network Service requirements, enabling the delivery of IT solutions that are not only timely but also secure and well-supported.

    About the Information Strategy and Technology Services Unit

    Information Strategy and Technology Services (ISTS), comprises approximately 160 staff in 9 key areas and has the primary strategic and operational responsibility for the provision of the UniSA's considerable IT infrastructure and services. ISTS contributes to the University's strategic goals and objectives by providing, university wide IT support for staff and students. This includes technical support, development and management of the information systems that underpin online teaching and learning, research management and research education, student experience, administration, data integration and business intelligence, the staff and student portals, and the corporate web.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (normally a degree), current Cisco CCNP, current Palo Alto PCNSE and experience supporting Enterprise grade networking products or equivalent knowledge and skills
  • Significant relevant experience in the development and support of enterprise information systems within a complex networked computing environment comparable to the University, including competency in the following technologies:

  • Enterprise firewall and gateway application security (Palo Alto)Software defined data centre networking (Cisco ACI) 2. Software defined campus network security (Cisco SD Access) 3. Advanced routing (MPLS) and switching 4. Experience supporting Cisco Catalyst (C9K series) and Nexus (N9K)
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior networking technical role providing guidance and leadership to team members

  • Demonstrated experience in capturing business and technical requirements to document detailed designs for stakeholder acceptance
