About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Senior HR Officer in the Department of Chemistry. Reporting to the Deputy Head of HR you will focus on the day-to-day operation of HR in the Department and assist with supervising the other HR Officers in the team. You will work closely with line managers, providing advice and support as well as performing and overseeing end to end processes in relation to the employee life cycle.

There is a strong recruitment focus to the role but you will be expected to provide a range of generalist HR support, including employee relations and providing policy assistance in relation to the University's processes and procedures as well as working on ad hoc projects and process improvements as directed by the Deputy Head of HR and Head of HR.

About You

You will be qualified or working toward CIPD level 5, or have equivalent experience. You will have sound knowledge and experience of the application of UK employment law and Home Office regulations for Visas. Experience of operating HR information systems (particularly PeopleXD) and producing management information reports is essential. You will also possess the ability to clearly and accurately communicate processes and procedures verbally and in writing.

Ideally you will also have experience of managing or supervising staff.
