Position Information

Under the direction of the Dean of the School of Education, functions as the Senior Grants Facilitator for the School of Education (SOE). The position is responsible for high-level contract and grant expertise in college-wide SOE pre-award facilitation and post award collaboration and execution with assigned SOE Research Grant Analyst for SOE faculty. The incumbent facilitates pre-award administration by identifying and sharing research opportunities that align with current and future SOE faculty research needs, assists with technical communication, formatting/editing, research integration and submitting required proposal documentation. Focus will include identifying and coordinating proposal processes of acquiring large multi-investigator/multi- disciplinary awards. In conjunction with the Director of Development, the incumbent will ensure contract and grant proposals submitted through the Foundation follow agency guidelines and system wide UC and UCR campus policies. Additionally, provides post- award administration with budget /financial oversight, payroll/personnel, purchasing review and award closeout/ reporting for assigned SOE faculty with current research awards. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position.

The full salary range for the Senior Grants Facilitator is $76,000 - $139,600 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is $95,000 - $115,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to manage high volume and complex transactions. Extensive knowledge of program administration guidelines of Federal and non- Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in a university environment. Advanced knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc. Demonstrated advanced competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports. Ability to perform highly complex financial analysis and customized reporting. Maintains knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply sponsor, institutional and departmental policies. Knowledge of current compliance regulations in all areas of research administration. Full knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Code of Federal Regulations, sponsor-specific policies, intellectual property policy, conflict of interest requirements, publication rights, application of indirect cost rates and other complex concepts in research administration. Advances knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedure and techniques. Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization and communication skills; and a customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas. Advanced ability to create and train grant writing and other communication skills in a variety of styles to ensure securing grant funding required. Experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, cooperative agreements. Ability to interpret policy for others. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles. Demonstrated commitment toward addressing SOE and UCR?s equity-oriented mission as a minority serving institution in the Inland Empire, located on tribal lands
