  • About This Opportunity

    As the Senior Coordinator of the Queensland Brain Injury Collaborative (QBIC) , you will work to embed a governance structure and research framework within the network that will support it more effectively. The primary purposes of this position are to facilitate QBIC's next phase of development and initiatives and provide a range of operational support to the overall management of QBIC, under the general direction of the QBI Centre Manager and with support and guidance from the Director and Portfolio leads.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining effective networks by disseminating relevant research information to key stakeholders across the Collaborative and identifying funding opportunities that align with their research.

  • Fostering relationships between researchers and knowledge users, including consumers, clinicians, health services, policy makers and industry to ensure stakeholders recognise the value of QBIC and its research.

  • Acting as the key liaison for engagement activities such as events, seminars, media and other communication opportunities.

  • Implementing strategies that enable QBIC to translate scientific research into persuasive narratives and fostering genuine engagement of QBIC members.

  • Liaising with relevant internal teams to oversee marketing and promotion of QBIC initiatives.

  • Maintaining online outputs, including website, social media and other forms of media.

  • Supporting operational administration of QBIC, managing HR/Finance and physical resources and ensuring governance in accordance with University policy and procedures

  • About You
  • Completion of a degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Accomplished interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with a wide range of stakeholder groups, consult with integrity and diplomacy, and sensitively negotiate issues.

  • Demonstrated experience in the development of strong external and internal relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to generate and write briefings, strategic reports, and/or policy papers with a high attention to detail, either in conjunction with other senior staff members or independently.

  • Demonstrated and well-advanced experience in the area of research administration or research management.

  • Advanced proficiency using computer software packages for word-processing, data storage and retrieval, and spreadsheets.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with staff from a variety of settings both within the University and externally.

  • Ability to contribute to the formulation and development of financial procedures and financial reports to meet changing needs, while remaining cognisant of wider University and legislative requirements.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as autonomously.

  • Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures in relation to research administration or demonstrated capacity to gain this knowledge.

  • The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
