    Position Summary

    The Senior Coordinator, Post-Award Research Services in the Office for Research & Innovation (ORI) serves as the primary contact for the Schools and other departments for all post-award activities associated with externally-funded research, including approvals, research agreements, institutional data and reporting (including quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting to leadership), and promotion of impact from research grants.

    They will support with a broad range of post-award activities that support development and administration of RMIT Vietnam's research grants, which include the provision of institutional documentation and approvals and the monitoring of the review of research contracts across departments); the admission and monitoring of research data on Research Master (including quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting to leadership); coordinating the involvement of researchers in seminars and events and contributing to promotional materials that showcase research impact.

    This includes working with researchers, School Deans, and units across RMIT Europe, Vietnam and Australia to ensure that timely support and advice is provided in relation to a range of complex research matters. This includes coordinating the review of funding agreements and approvals with the schools (professional staff and academics), funding bodies, Legal, Accounting, Finance and Research Contracts Team in Melbourne. They will be responsible for consolidating the advice provided by each department into a brief to seek endorsements and signing as per the university's DoA. This role will liaise with the relevant Research & Innovation teams, RMIT Europe, and departments across RMIT Vietnam to ensure fit for purpose documentation and advice related to the above is made available to support academics with their external research funding. The successful candidate will require exceptional organizational skills and autonomous working to meet deliverables in planning this event with support across other portfolios in ORI.

    Key Selection Criteria
  • Bachelor degree or above and significant relevant experience in a similar position.

  • Knowledge of IT and Multi-media related applications preferred.

  • Knowledge of research services, and/or the administration of external research funding preferred.

  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently handle a range of situations with people from a diverse range of academic and business backgrounds.

  • Experience in the interpretation of complex guidelines as well as identifying key information required for data entry and a high level of attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team as well as autonomously under broad direction.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and the flexibility to re-adjust workload priorities to meet competing deadlines.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute to continuous improvement projects.

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office suite; internet and information management systems. Experience in working with Research Master or other similar databases is preferred.

  • Well-developed skills in managing a secretariat; including the development of documents including Minutes, Agendas, Reports etc.

  • Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).

  • English Proficiency

    English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General with a score of at least 6.0 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).

    For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
