The Centre on Contemporary China and the World is seeking a person to manage
the Centre's online presence across various social media platforms, create and
distribute the monthly newsletter, maintain the mailing list, and update the
website with the latest news and content and provide support to the Centre's
events and publications. The ideal candidate will be a tech-savvy professional
with a strong understanding of how each social media channel works and how to
optimize content for maximum engagement. The appointee is to commence as soon
as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and
University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10%
of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding
availability and satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage a comprehensive digital communications strategy across
platforms like Twitter/X, WeChat, LinkedIn, and YouTube, monitoring
performance metrics to recommend enhancements and optimize content.
Manage and maintain the Centre's website content, ensuring a consistent
and engaging user experience.
Design and produce visually engaging graphics, illustrations, and other
content for the Centre's events and research initiatives and create on-
brand content, including text, images, and videos, tailored for each
social media platform.
Oversee the creation and distribution of a monthly newsletter and maintain
the mailing list database.
Provide support for the Centre's events, including scheduling, preparing
venues, preparing supplies, planning logistics, and coordinating with
major stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
Proven experience in digital communications or social media management.
Strong knowledge of Twitter/X, WeChat, LinkedIn, YouTube, and social media
best practices.
Familiarity with web design, basic SEO, and content management systems
(e.g., WordPress).
Proficient in graphic design and video production tools, including Adobe
Creative Suite and Canva.
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese
and Mandarin).
Solid understanding of multimedia principles and video editing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
Excellent multitasking and time management abilities.
Proactive learner, staying updated on industry trends and technologies.
