Base salary will be in the range $113,377 - $127,112 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)

Our Senior Business Systems Analysts identify, define and convert business requirements into strategic system designs for large ERP systems at the University of Queensland, giving consideration to the wider enterprise applications portfolio. The role is a senior escalation point within the team, supporting other team members in delivering services.
Key responsibilities will include:Analyse business processes, operational requirements, and identify solutions for improvements in automated and non-automated components of processes, maintaining design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications, including process flows, wireframes, data models, and workflow diagrams, while liaising with technical teams and business stakeholders.
Assess feasibility, recommend new approaches, and prepare business cases outlining benefits, risks, and options for process improvements, providing input to project documentation and procurement materials.
Support management of significant IT projects, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, timely issue resolution, and effective change management processes, while delivering senior technical advice and mentoring to team members.
Support testing, training, and change management activities to ensure the successful adoption of system and business process changes, driving continuous improvement within the team.
The Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) at The University of Queensland provides an information environment that supports the teaching, learning, research and engagement objectives of the University and contributes positively to the student experience and the University's reputation, in line with our values of Service, Team, Accountability and Results. It delivers network, systems and IT infrastructure support to the University, and application development.
Also located within ITS, is the internationally recognised network security group, AusCERT, which provides Internet security services throughout Australia and New Zealand. ITS manages core networks not only for the whole of The University of Queensland, but also works with other Queensland universities to manage access to the national university network (AARNet). ITS also operates research computing infrastructure and hosts many of the University's largest servers.
About YouThe role requires qualifications equivalent to a postgraduate degree in IT, business, or a related field, or significant relevant experience. It demands substantial experience in business analysis and requirements gathering for ERP platforms, with a proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, produce solution designs, and prioritize deliverables.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, along with experience designing IT solutions, conducting business process modelling, and documenting systems according to industry standards. Experience in agile development and software lifecycle methodologies is also essential. Strong written communication and interpersonal skills, including mentoring and effective stakeholder negotiation, are crucial. Additionally, the ability to evaluate emerging technologies and manage workloads independently while meeting deadlines is required.
Significant experience using Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions applications would be looked at favourably.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, and professional registration check.
