Base salary will be in the range $132,647.53 - $140,276 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 9)
Based at our picturesque St Lucia Campus
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Business Case Manager known locally as Senior Manager, Business Interface to lead the business interface team and development of strategic business cases for major projects and programs within the P&F Program Management Office (PMO). This role will assist in leading and growing our P&F PMO business interface function under the guidance of our leaderships team and collaborate with senior university stakeholders to ensure business cases align with UQ's strategic priorities and deliver measurable value.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the development of complex business cases, ensuring they align with UQ's strategic objectives and adhere to financial and governance requirements.
Lead and manage the development of the business interface team and process and procedures to build the broader P&F PMO capability
Collaborate with stakeholders to define challenges, develop data-driven solutions, and provide strategic advice on program delivery.
Oversee stakeholder engagement, consultation, and change management to ensure seamless project execution.
Lead and coordinate the review and approval of all business case preparation elements via Executive governance forums, including incorporation of any feedback.
Work collaboratively with the PMO Governance team to enable the review and approval of all business case initiatives through the UQ Gated CapEx process (managed by the PMO)
Provide strategic oversight of project scope changes, ensuring alignment with approved business cases, the UQ Gated CapEx process and long-term institutional goals.

The ideal candidate will have postgraduate qualifications in a business or construction related field (or extensive relevant experience) and a strong background in origination of Project within a Program or Portfolio setting. You will have proven success in leading stakeholder engagement and developing business cases for capital works, ideally within the property sector. Experience in real estate development, commercial property projects, and large-scale capital programs is highly desirable, particularly within ANZ markets.
You will be adept at working within project and program teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives while managing project controls, commercial oversight, and risk mitigation. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations for senior executives and key stakeholders. Experience in leading teams, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and delivering high-value property development initiatives will set you apart in this role.
