    The Opportunity

    This role supports the Faculty's research initiatives by providing management and care services for animals, including general and technical procedures adhering to established policies.

    As a Senior Animal Technologist, you will assist the facility manager in the daily operations of a designated unit, overseeing work planning, prioritisation, and ensuring animal welfare in production, care, and experimentation. You will deliver professional and efficient service to researchers by providing quality animals and actively supporting research projects. Additionally, you will supervise and train senior and junior team members in animal husbandry, care, and welfare, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, while ensuring a compliant and safe operating environment

    The Senior Animal Technologist is expected to maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge of new and innovative methodology, equipment, technology, data management and analysis, including implementing changes to practices and training as required.

    We are seeking someone with a Diploma of Applied Science (Animal Technology) with subsequent relevant work experience in a laboratory animal facility environment or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training or experience in an animal facility environment. A genuine passion for working with animals and a collaborative work ethic are essential.
