  • About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Security & Investigations Coordinator to ensure that our security services meet the highest standards of service delivery at the University. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of our community, as well as protecting university assets and premises. The successful candidate will report to the Security & Facilities Services Manager and will oversee security operations and investigations under broad direction.

    In this position, you will assist in delivering exceptional security services and work closely with the operations team to maintain high standards at all times. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and managing major investigations and events, conducting risk assessments, providing leadership to the security team, and implementing proactive strategies to reduce risks and incidents on campus.

    Collaboration is key in this role. You will regularly engage with key internal and external stakeholders, including Victoria Police, our contract security provider, and the broader university community. Additionally, you will perform various administrative and reporting tasks, participate in contract meetings, assist in the recruitment of contract personnel, and actively contribute to the university's emergency response team.

    About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating human resources activities for staff in a busy environment, campus or in a similar large multi-site organization
  • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal interpersonal communication skills including the ability to prepare concise, accurate and informed reports as well as the ability to deliver security related presentations to both large and small groups
  • Sound background in coordinating staff including a strong work ethic and leadership capabilities
  • Must be confident, self-motivator possess the ability to multitask simultaneously

    Qualifications Knowledge or Training equivalent to a degree with at least 4 years' subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
