SD-25230 – POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN OPTIMAL OPERATION OF LOW VOLTAGE GRID Temporary contract 36 months Belvaux Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. By transforming scientific knowledge into technologies, smart data and tools, LIST empowers citizens in their choices, public authorities in their decisions and businesses in their strategies.

Do you want to know more about LIST? Check our website: https: // www. list.lu/

How will you contribute?

You will be mainly in charge of:

· Developing mathematical optimization approach and tool for optimal operation of smart low voltage grids with high penetration of distributed energy resources

· Producing quality research outputs (e.g., scientific papers, software, reports, project deliverables)

· Supporting other researchers working in the group / unit

· Contributing to the group / unit objectives

The Intelligent and Clean Energy Systems (ICES) research unit aims at proposing ground-breaking market-oriented solutions and services for clean energy systems, where distributed and flexible markets and grids, based on clean and efficient assets, use digital technologies to integrate all the systems players in an optimal, transparent and democratic manner. The research unit conducts fundamental research aiming ground-breaking disclosers to remove barriers and introduce revolutionary concepts for planning, developing, and operating the Intelligent Clean Energy Systems of the future. The unit is composed of around 20 scientists, with a wide range of industrial and academic backgrounds, and is organised in two complementary groups: The Sustainable Energy Systems (SES) group and the Active Power Grid (APG) group. The SES research group is focusing on developing solutions for the challenges of future energy systems, allowing for larger integration of renewable energy, energy storage, demand response and electric mobility including energy communities, resilient grids, and efficient intelligent buildings.

You will join the SES research group, where you will work mainly in the research project DEFIE (Decision-Focused learning for Identifying multi- period, uncertainty-aware operating envelopes: towards coordinating energy entities in smart grids), a collaboration between LIST and University of Mons (Belgium).
