About the Department of Risk ServicesMount Royal University's Risk Management operates by using a structured approach to identify and evaluate risks that Mount Royal University is exposed to, and then develops efficient ways to manage (control) and finance the risks. The management of risks and opportunities is a shared responsibility by all members of the University. With any activity, there is an element of uncertainty due to Mount Royal University's desire to be creative and innovative. The diverse needs of faculty, students, and staff also present risks, as well as new, exciting opportunities. Risk Management assists in the decision making processes that minimize potential losses while exploring those opportunities.
About the RoleReporting to the Manager, Risk and Insurance, the Risk Analyst supports the identification of risks throughout the organization; develops, reports and monitors risk management issues, developing methodologies for the assessment of risks and subsequent mitigation of risks. This incumbent will be a value- added partner, ensuring they are a specialist within the field of Risk Management and Insurance, keeping up to date with current practices to ensure they are providing expertise in relation to the appropriate implementation of industry standards. This includes the development of relevant procedures and institutional operational protocols. The incumbent will support the rollout and implementation of updated policy and procedures to assist the department with reaching their strategic objectives.
This is a full time replacement term position, commencing May 2025 and ending April 2027.
ResponsibilitiesData Analysis
Program Development & Support
Risk project development, including completion of work plans, coordinating resources, preparation of meeting materials, and training and procedural documents
Complete ongoing research of risk best practices and monitor cases on specialty websites, ensuring updates to regulatory and compliance organizations are gathered, reviewed and brought to the attention of the manager.
Training/ Incident Management and reporting
Salary: $89,646 - $113,391 per annum
