Resourcing Coordinator

The University of Cambridge is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the UK, employing more than 12,500 staff in a wide range of academic, research and professional services roles. Our ability to attract, develop and retain the highest calibre of talent, whilst enhancing the University's reputation as a prominent employer of choice, is key to our success.

The HR Resourcing Team plays a prominent role in the University's talent attraction efforts, by providing expert advice and guidance on all areas of resourcing activity. Over the past 18 months, the University has attended many Jobs Fairs across the region, and has since delivered two of its own events, with plans to continue this activity on an ongoing basis. As a result, we have a new opportunity for you to join our team as a Resourcing Coordinator, where you will provide dedicated support to our external engagement activity.

The Role:

As our Recruitment Coordinator, you will be principally responsible for coordinating the University's engagement with the local and regional community, seeking ways to promote the full range of employment opportunities available at the University. This role will offer you the opportunity to:

  • Identify opportunities for the University to attend local events, whilst playing a key role in the coordination and delivery of our own careers' fairs.
  • Lead the coordination of the working group, including booking meetings, creating and updating action plans on scheduled events, taking notes and proactively moving tasks forward (e.g. event advertising and creating promotional material).
  • Support the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance and monitor the candidate experience.
  • Contribute to key Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) projects within the wider Resourcing team e.g. hard to fill posts, promoting apprenticeships, attending recruitment events.
  • Support the wider team with senior Professional Services and Professorial recruitment activity, where required.
  • As someone who is approachable and outgoing, you will attend all events, liaising with attendees to promote the University as an employer of choice and provide information on the application process.

    About You:

    You will join us with:

  • Previous administrative experience (ideally in a HR related role)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present and communication information to people at all levels.
  • The ability to organise and plan your own workload, both short and long term.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels to influence and get things done.
  • A pragmatic approach to solving problems at an operational level, identifying the root cause and propose appropriate solutions.
  • This exciting new role would suit candidates who enjoy liaising a wide range of people and would like the opportunity to help shape the University's approach to external engagement and candidate attraction. If you feel you are the ideal candidate for the role, we want to hear from you.
