The University of Westminster is a vibrant learning environment – fostering innovation and creativity inspired by research and informed by practice, with a record of research and teaching achievements spanning more than 175 years. Our student residential accommodation offers students a comfortable, compliant, safe and supportive environment to live in, a home from home experience whilst studying at the University of Westminster. Our university- owned student accommodation is in Central London and Harrow with 1039 student bedrooms.

We wish to recruit a Support Residential Coordinator who will be required to provide a Reception service at our Hall of Residence. This role requires flexibility; it will be based at our Alexander Fleming Hall of Residence. You will provide essential reception duties, welcoming residents, guests, contractors, and visitors to the Hall of Residence. You will be the first point of access for residents at reception. The role will monitor maintenance within the Hall and liaise with Campus Building Managers and contractors to ensure maintenance tasks reported by students are completed. The role will also be responsible for accepting post/parcels from various couriers, sorting the postal deliveries, and informing residents. The Residential Coordinator will also be responsible for addressing any fire alarm activations, reporting any emergencies to the Residential Management and participating in weekly fire alarm testing.

This is a varied and challenging role, which requires an approachable and polite manner, with excellent communication and written skills with customer service experience and the ability to support our residents and guests living in the Halls of Residence. The post holder will be expected to have a good standard of education to GCSE standard (or equivalent) and IT literacy including competence in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use residential systems. There will be times when you could be asked to work at various locations, covering staff absence/annual leave. The role will involve liaising with a wide range of university staff and students and previous experience working in a reception or similar role is essential.
