A Residence Life Desk Attendant is a great way to improve your marketable skills for future employment, such as those pertaining to public speaking, customer service, critical thinking and problem-solving, time management, and administrative ability.

    Duties:

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    The Residence Life Desk Attendants work in conjunction with Resident Advisors, Cleaning Crew, and Res Life Professional Staff to complete tasks, provide customer service, and basic office administration duties. This position works at the Housing Lodge or John Pugh Hall front desks for up to 20 hours per week depending on schedule and availability.

    Though training is largely provided, we do expect some of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to be displayed and demonstrated: Part-time (6 credits) student status Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA May not be on disciplinary probation Effective interpersonal skills Ability to work as a member of a staff team Demonstrated leadership and/or peer helping skills Preference given to candidates with experience living in communal environments and/or university leadership involvement

  • Required Education or Training:

    Training is provided to all student staff of Student Housing. This training includes; office administrative tasks, department communication methods and tools, use of custodial supplies including cleaning chemicals and equipment, Housing and Residence Life policies and procedures.

    Salary Information:

    This is a part-time, academic year, non-exempt student position. New hires will be hired on at Student Assistant 2, Step 13 ($14.38 hourly).
