Job Description:

The Resident Director is responsible for the administration of one or more coeducational residence halls housing between 200 and 450 students and actively supports the Department's mission by making them inviting, intellectual, and inclusive communities. The RD supervises, selects, and trains 5 to 12 Resident Assistants, reports to the Assistant Director for Quadrangle, and shares in a weekly on-duty rotation and the departmental recess duty rotation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise student staff
  • Serve on call and on duty on a weekly basis to respond to all emergencies, mental health, and enforce University policies
  • Provide programming and resource for all students
  • Live-in professional responsible for all emergencies
  • Serve on University-wide or divisional committees
  • Requirements:

    Minimum :

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • At least two years full time experience in higher education administration or a related field
  • Strong management, administrative, inter-personal and communication skills
  • Applicants must address in their application their ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
  • Preferred :

  • Masters degree in Higher Education Administration or related field
